Andrea Asnes, MD, MSW
Program Director

Andie Asnes is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics who practices child abuse pediatrics. Her educational interests include maximizing clinical and communication skills teaching in patient care settings and the support of resident well-being.  When not working, she likes to bake, read, go to Yale hockey games and spend time with her teenaged kids, Simon and Caroline, and her husband, Jeremy Asnes, who also is a faculty member in the department of pediatrics at Yale.

Paul Aronson, MD
Deputy Program Director 

Paul Aronson is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and of Emergency Medicine, in the Section of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. His educational interests include teaching evidence-assisted medicine and his research focuses primarily on the febrile young infant as well as collaborative research using administrative databases. He enjoys any and all sports but focuses most of his energy on Yale hockey and basketball, Duke basketball, and playing backyard soccer with his son Eli and daughter Hayley. Mostly, he likes spending time with his family anywhere and everywhere.

Marietta Vázquez, MD
Associate Program Director 

Marietta Vázquez was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. A graduate of our Yale Pediatrics Residency Program, she is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in both Infectious Diseases and General Pediatrics. She is the Director of the Yale Pediatrics Global Health Track and the Yale Children's Hispanic Clinic (Y-CHiC). As APD she organizes Yale Pediatric Wellness Program for residents and our research during residency initiative. Her scholarly interests include studies of vaccines, national and international vaccine policy, global health (research and educational international initiatives) and health outcomes in Latino population in the US. When not working, she enjoys chasing her three children to their soccer games and the beach.

Jaspreet Loyal, MD
Associate Program Director 

Jaspreet Loyal is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics who practices General Pediatrics with a focus on term and late pre-term newborns in the hospital. She is also the Medical Director for the Well Newborn Nursery at Yale New Haven Hospital, York street campus. Her education and research interests are in medical education and refusal of standard newborn recommendations by parents such as intramuscular vitamin K. When not working, she likes to travel, further develop her photography skills, watch international soccer and spend time with her husband and two children.

Annie Manzione 
Residency Program Coordinator

Annie Manzione joined the Yale Pediatric Residency in 2017 after three previous years of residency coordination experience at Yale. Annie is excited to have become a member of the leadership team and plans to be productive contributor to the growth of the Yale Pediatric Residency Program and a strong supporter of the residents and her colleagues.

Heather A. Riggio 
Residency and Fellowship Coordinator

Heather Riggio joined Yale Pediatric Residency in 2017 with a diverse administrative background and a commitment to creative and compassionate support of both residents and fellows. She looks forward to playing a significant role in helping to shape the development of the Yale Pediatric Residency and Fellowship Programs alongside her colleagues.
