Hematology and Oncology

The Section of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology is dedicated to the treatment of childhood cancers and blood disorders. We are focused on providing the highest level of patient care, researching and developing novel treatments, and educating the next generation of pediatric hematologists and oncologists.

Since 1987, we have been directly involved in developing and implementing multi-institutional clinical trials through the Children's Oncology Group (COG). We also participate in other national/international pediatric hematology and oncology research consortia, including the Pacific Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Consortium (PNOC), the Pediatric Transplantation and Cellular Therapy Consortium (PTCTC), and the New England Pediatric Sickle Cell Consortium (NEPSCC). The Section faculty are also active members of the Yale Cancer Center, working to make promising new trials available to our patients.

We work with a multidisciplinary team to provide tailored care to each of our patients and their families, from diagnosis to cure and survivorship. Team members include:

We are invested in the education of medical students, residents, and pre-/post-doctoral research fellows. Our section offers an ACGME-accredited clinical fellowship in pediatric hematology and oncology. We strive to provide our trainees with a broad exposure to diverse research and clinical opportunities. See what we're up to on Instagram here!
