Welcome to the pediatric fellowship programs at Yale School of Medicine and Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital. We have designed these programs to give you the resources and opportunities to help you launch an interesting, satisfying and sustaining career.
Now is the time to develop a strong foundation in your discipline that will permit you to provide outstanding clinical care and explore vexing medical problems that demand a greater depth of understanding. While you have identified a subspecialty endeavor, we want you to know that your curiosity and interests are not bounded by the traditional borders of a clinical section. We encourage exploration and interdisciplinary interaction that extends throughout the department, the medical school and the university.
Many of our fellows work in close collaboration or under the mentorship of faculty in other departments, and we strongly encourage such opportunities when they fit the career aspirations. We recognize that you will be part of the next generation of pediatric academic faculty, and we are privileged to assist you in your career development and personal growth during this formative training. We also realize that your interests may be expressed in a myriad of ways, which is why we have crafted opportunities specifically designed for developing careers as physician scientists in basic or clinical settings and as clinician educators.
We look forward to getting to know you and to watching your career flourish.
